Study Tips: Create a Study Schedule

Create a study plan that works for you

Transform your study struggles into success by creating a personalised study schedule that works for you.

Are you tired of feeling frazzled and stressed while trying to study for your next assessment/exam? You’re not alone. But what if I told you that a simple solution exists – creating a study schedule? That’s right, planning and organisation can take you from feeling overwhelmed to being confident and prepared. So, put down that energy drink and let’s get started! In this Friday study tip, you’ll learn how to create a study schedule that will work for you and help you ace those assessments.

Set specific goals: Before you even think about picking up your textbooks, consider what you want to accomplish. Setting specific goals, such as acing a special assessment or improving your overall grade, will help you stay focused and motivated.

Make a plan: Once you have your goals in mind, it’s time to put together a plan of attack. Break your study sessions into smaller, manageable chunks and create a schedule that includes regular breaks. Trust us. Your brain will thank you.

Prioritise your time: We all have subjects that we love and subjects that we don’t love as much. When creating your study schedule, prioritise the subjects that are most important or that you struggle with the most. It’s better to tackle the tough stuff first and enjoy the easy stuff later.

Be flexible: Life is unpredictable, especially when you’re working full-time and studying part-time. Make sure to build in some extra time for unexpected events and be willing to adjust your schedule as needed. After all, a little bit of flexibility goes a long way.

Create a study environment: Finally, create a study environment that is conducive to learning. We learnt during the pandemic sometimes you can’t work in certain environments. Minimise distractions, find ways to make studying more enjoyable and set up a dedicated study space. It’ll help you stay focused and get into the right mindset for learning.

With these tips in mind, you’re now equipped to create a study schedule to help you make the most of your study time and ace those assessments/exams. So don’t procrastinate; get cracking! Remember, a little bit of planning and organisation goes a long way, and who knows, you may even have time for a little Netflix afterwards. Happy studying!
